Wess and I have officially moved to Steamboat Springs, Colorado. We rented a U-Haul on July 1 and packed it up that same day. We left Camp Id-Ra-Ha-Je West on July 2 at about 9:30am to move on to our next journey in Steamboat Springs. We arrived in Steamboat around 1:00pm and found a storage unit and dropped off the U-Haul. We got our PO Box and settled in at the Arnold's house. The Arnold's, Dave and Brigette, moved to Steamboat from Washington almost a year ago. They have encouraged us to join them in Steamboat to start the home church. They let us crash at their house for a week while we were looking for jobs and a permanent place to stay. Because the Arnold's had more guests coming we moved in to the Sherrill's house. Another family who goes to the home church. The Sherrill's, Mike and Becca, have lived in Steamboat for quite some time. Mike grew up in Steamboat so they are locals (you aren't really considered a local until you have lived here for 5 or more years). God has blessed us so much through these families that are letting us stay in their homes until we get our feet on the ground. Wess, as of today, got a job at Starbucks! starting on July 23rd and I got a job at The Village (a time share resort) and have yet to hear when I start working. Both of our jobs have great pay and benefits. Steamboat is a wealthy town and they seem to pay more than what we are used to per hour. I have yet to start with the new job so I am still interviewing at other places. This Thursday I have a phone interview with Wells Fargo to be a teller. I am very interested in being a teller so please pray for that interview that I would have the right answers. Wess and I were also able to put a security deposit on an apartment, but we aren't able to move in until August 1st because it is getting remodeled! I am so excited that that apartment happen to be the only one that was affordable for us because it will be pretty much brand new when we move in with new carpet, tile, cabinets, blinds, and so on. We are very excited to finally have our own place with a kitchen, bathroom, living room, and so on after 6-7 months of not having our own place. We plan on taking pictures to show you all our first place. Right now we are a little overwhelmed with all that comes along with having your own place. We went to Wal-Mart (only large store in town) to look at kitchenware like pots and pans, glasses, cooking utensils and then houseware like a vacuum and such. We are realizing all the stuff that is needed, but we still have all our wedding gifts packed in storage which will be fun to re-open and realize how much we do have :) Well, we are just so blessed to be where we are right now. Please keep us in your prayers. Thank you for keeping in touch with us. We love you! More information will follow about our home church.
