Well, we have been in California since Tuesday. We started driving on Monday night at 7pm and made it to California on Tuesday at 9am --- Suuuuuper long drive when you do it through the night. Our first stop was at Calvary Chapel Bible College in Murrieta. We had three students with us from the campus in Colorado. Terra Duggins who graduated actually last night, Jason Feeser who wanted to see his girlfriend (who is coming back with us), and Becca Bates who is going to work at the college over the summer. It was definitely a crammed car that had no air conditioning. After we dropped the students off in Murrieta we headed over to my parents house in Moreno Valley. Oh how excited I was to come see my parents (even though I saw them twice last month - when they came out to Colorado and when Wess and I came out to California). While we were making that 40 minute drive -- a semi-truck passed by throwing a nice sized rock into our windshield (didn't break it, but left its mark for sure). We were bummed and thought it to be so funny because during our twelve hour drive from Colorado to California there were no damages done to our vehicle. When we arrived at my parents house - we fell asleep immediately. There was so many times while driving that I felt like falling asleep at the wheel. We have officially decided to never drive through the night without sleeping before leaving (bad idea). My mom had started making dinner and by the time it was finished my brother and sister-in-law came over to eat. My brother, Brad came at me with a big hug exclaiming, "Hey, Aunt Lauren!" It took me a little bit to think about what he had said and then I saw Michelle and realized, "Oh, my gosh!!! You are pregnant!!" So I am going to be an Aunt! That is so exciting -- I thought the time would never come :) They are going to have the cutest baby ever. Of Course because it is MY brother's baby. I'm hoping that it will be a boy. We'll see in about 7-8 months! My parents are so absolutely excited to be grandparents -- that baby is going to be such a spoiled grand kid. Then Wednesday came around; we woke up, went swimming, made lunch, relaxed, etc.... My mom told us to go over to Calvary Chapel Moreno Valley School because they want to donate some stuff for the summer camps that are held in Colorado. We made our way over there and come to find out that they blessed us tremendously. God does abundantly more than we could ever think <--That is what happened. They gave us basketballs, volleyballs, hockey sticks/balls, bad mitten rackets/birdies, and the list goes on. The camp we are at was in need of items for kid games and we are so excited to bring all of that stuff back to Colorado with us. Now we will have more games to play and a whole lot of items to make it happen. Thank you! Then we remembered that our car A/C was broken. We stopped at Wal-Mart, purchased what we thought we needed to fix it and come to found out that it needs professional help. My brothers mechanic took a look at it the next morning and says that it needs about $400 worth of work... BUMMER! So we figured we could live without A/C because the car can still get us from A to B. We are just so blessed to have a car. Yesterday was so fun because we were able to see our friends Stacie/Jared Fowler and "soon to be" Mike/Shea Rendle. We drove up to the Fowler's in Running Springs (San Bernardino Mountains). Stacie made this AWESOME dinner: Kung Pow(?) Chicken, Beef and broccoli, sushi rolls and shrimp, white rice, chocolate covered strawberries, and mike and shea brought a super yummy chocolate cake. We were once again blessed. Then we played Catch Phrase (really awesome game of boys vs. girls). The boys totally won :( we were playing 3 out of 5. Us girls thought we would at least win once. It has been a good vacation coming out to California. We will be heading back to Colorado tomorrow morning. Pray for a safe trip and that we wouldn't get too hot with no air conditioning.
Update on Steamboat Springs, CO:
We believe God has confirmed for us to go to Steamboat, but we have yet to find out when.
"And in this I give advice: it is to your advantage not only to be doing what you began and were desiring to do a year ago (going to Steamboat); but now you also must complete that doing of it; that as there was a readiness to desire it, so there also may be a completion out of what you have. For it there is first a willing mind, it is accepted according to what one has, and not according to what he does not have." - II Corinthians 8:10-12
