Spring update on the Roots

Hello there faithful followers of our blog. Thank you in advance for reading this. it's been a bit and lots has happened over the last few months. It seems we have come out of the hard, cold winter and into some beautiful spring weather (with occasional rain, reminds me of Oregon).

What's new? Well, has anybody herd of a little town called Steamboat Springs Colorado? Me neither. Lauren and I went there to visit friends over spring break (April 6th-10th). My buddy said, "Hey, if you're not up to anything after you get done with Bible college, you should come start a church in Steamboat, the nearest Calvary Chapel is over an hour away." So we figured we would visit the place. Turns out, you need a lot of money to live there (which we don't have much of) and it also turns out, there isn't really a biblically founded, Bible teaching church there. It seems that most the churches there have fallen into..............you guessed it, the snare of money. S.B. is a beautiful transient ski town (USA!) and has many wonderful views and plenty of things to do, and let's not forget the 39 winter Olympiads! How come you've never herd of it? Probably the same reason I've never herd of it, I don't know! So, keep us in your prayers, we are praying for S.B. not sure just yet what the Lords will is, but I do know that my buddy that lives there is showing the podcast of a Calvary Chapel in Seattle Washington on Sunday afternoons. Looks like this church might get started without me!

Among other news, My wife and I took a trip to Murrieta a couple of weeks ago to promote the summer camps that are happening this summer at camp ID-RA-HA-JE. Not that we need bible college students to attend, but we need bible college students to be camp counselors and leaders. Know any? Interested? contact us via this blog. It was a nice quick trip, got to hang with the In-Laws and swim in the pool in 100 degree weather. We are planning another trip in a couple of weeks to take one of our graduating students to Murrieta to "walk" back at the main campus. This too will be a quick trip.

Please keep us in your prayers. I pray the Lord reveals our needs to you, and maybe He will stir your hearts to meet those needs. God bless,

Wess & Lauren Root
