Bring on the Practical ministry! Lauren and I are being spread thin. This is the second semester here at CCBC Colorado. The Previous semester only had 3 leaders: Ethan, Jeff, and Jenny. Now, there are 7 of us in leadership. Last semester it seemed a struggle just to keep one's head above water, now we have enough helping hands that we can actually work on projects and consider getting the office in order. Fine tune if you will.
Lauren and I are still organizing our cabin. When we put everything away on the shelves, there's actually quite a bit of room, enough room that we set up our dinning room table.
I taught youth group for the first time this last Sunday. I chose the book of Acts because I love it. Two girls came. One of them is actually quite the athlete. Lauren and I went to one of her games this evening. We really have a heart to build relationships and to pour into the lives of the kids that God sends in our direction. It's one thing to teach the Bible to kids a couple times a week, but as my good friend Mark Shwarts once said, "the most effective ministry tool is, a life lived", we want to get involved in their lives. I wanna be standing on the sideline, right next to her dad cheering her on.
Our needs? Please pray for us, ministry is pretty exhaustive. It's one thing to clock in at 8, out at 5 and have the rest of the evening to yourself. We are pretty much on call all the time around here. If something needs done immediately, we do it.
We also need financial support too. We don't get paid up here. It's a volunteer basis and eventually Lauren and I want to maybe start a church in a neighboring town, but that won't bee for a while. Every little bit helps!
Thanks for taking your time to read this, we will try to post again soon, Blessings!
Hey,
ReplyDeleteI want you to know that I'm praying for you.
"For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light."
Col 1:9-12
with much love
Thank you very much for your prayers and encouragement.
